Laura Hernandez-Myers

Picture
Laura Hernandez-Myers was born with the gifts and great love for art and creativity. She has been drawing, painting, and writing since the early years of her childhood. Laura works in all mediums. Laura works mostly with acrylics on canvas.  She has 38 years of experience. Her work has been commissioned many times through-out her career.

She finds that she is most comfortable when lost in her world of art and poetry.
Throughout her life she has been an admirer of humanity and nature, and a lover of life. She finds that all of her life's experiences are very inspirational, and have played a big part in the love that she has for everything she creates.

Laura is a very spiritual person and hopes to inspire and promote peace, love, and positivity through her work.

Hernandez-Myers is happy to announce the release of her new book, "Wearing Our Insides Out" poetry by L. Hernandez. This book of poetry has been described by some as changing, colorful seasons that create a mosaic of the beauty and pain of life. You can find "Wearing Our Insides Out" poetry by: L. Hernandez online at www.amazon.com; www.barnesandnoble.com; www.tesco.com; and  www.borders.com.

One of Laura's recent paintings, "Strummin' By The Light Of the Moon" was commissioned for the 2009 National Multiple Sclerosis Society's "Women on the Move" luncheon. A custon piece, representing movement, freedom, and love of life. Several of her paintings were also on display at this particular event.

Ms. Hernandez-Myers was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis in 2007 and despite the challenges of the disease, Laura continues to paint and  has her work currently on display.

Poetry

“Love Your Greens”

Be energy efficient
Be thankful to Father Sun
Go for the solar panels
Get off of the electric fun
Insulate your home
Refuse the electric grid
Bicycle  Recycle
Start a compost pile
Re-use your extra rid
Rain barrel
solar oven
take the electric car
Car pool with a friend
– if you must travel far
Grow your own lettuce
Grow your own beans
Grow your own broccoli
Sow your own seeds
Apples are the berries
And so is Mother Earth
Be thankful for her kindness
       And respect her lovely turf.
L. Hernandez
