FEBRUARY 26th, 2015 MEETING MINUTES
In attendance: Bruce Johnson,Mary Ketchmark, Don Grott, Dick Smith,Ken Baker,Gloria Rieck,Dave Levandoski,Dorothy Konieczny, Tom Konieczny, Laura Krentz,Peggy Michaels,Angie Haverstock,Alice Fitzwater, and Kris Cook
Meeting was called to order at 6:10pm by Vice President, Bruce Johnson, who had been asked to lead when President Mark Krentz was unable to attend. January 15, 2015, minutes were read by Kris Cook. Treasurer Laura Krentz did not have report but had periodically checked PO Box for the Terry Armstrong Watercolor Workshop registration fees. To date; she'd received $285.
Gridmaster Tom Konieczny reported that two grids had been left for members to use at Oakwood Manor when displaying work there.The remainders are housed in his garage. Mary Ketchmark reported that the artists who'd displayed at the Oakwood Manor Open House on Feb. 11 had been well-received. She donated a painting. Oakwood Manor would like to feature a LOLAA artist once a month in their library room. Two grids and hooks are there for use. Set-up 12:30 and show work from 1-2pm. The following have signed up to participate: March 13-Ken Baker April 10-Peggy Michaels May 15-Mary Ketchmark June 19-Don Grott July 10-Dorothy Konieczny November 20-Angie Haverstock. Available dates: August 7,September 11, October 9, December 11. If you would like to participate; please contact Mary Ketchmark.
Mary Ketchmark passed out T. Armstrong reference photo and supply list to those who had paid for workshop along with flyers for those who would like to attend. She requested a check for $10 to Michigan City Public Library for kitchen rental from Treasurer. A case of water would be supplied. Laura K. offered to bring coffee,sugar, creamer, and cups. Mary requested registrants' total two days prior to let the Library know how to set up the room.The Workshop flyers were also passed out.
Don Grott asked that artwork exhibited at LP Public Library be switched out. He reported that three paintings had been sold. Discussion followed re: display area.Currently work is shown in computer lab.
M.Ketchmark announced a 70% sale on brushes and easels at Concept Art Store in Merrillville. www.shopconceptart.com

Laura Krentz displayed works by her students on scratchboard (a clay, India ink-coated surface), She also shared pieces she had completed as well as a work in progress. She shared small pieces and the scratch tools for members to use. Laura suggested experimenting with various household items such as wire bristle brushes, pins,etc. and mentioned "Dick Blick" as a source for purchase of scratchboard. She recommended completed projects be framed under glass.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:14 pm. Next meeting will be March 20 @ 6:00 pm.
